COMMERCIAL/JAZZ

This class gives pupils the opportunity to discover different genres of Commercial, Street and Contemporary Dance.
Pupils from the age of 11 years are able to attend this weekly class.

MUSICAL THEATRE

Weekly Classes are held in Musical Theatre, encouraging pupils of the Academy to sing and act.  These classes are taught by Industry Professionals.

I.S.T.D. TAP

TAP - Children can start learning Tap Dancing from about 6 years, again as long as they have had some ballet training.
Both of these forms of dance encourage the children to be rhythmically aware which helps to develop musicality.

I.S.T.D. MODERN

MODERN – Children can start learning Modern from about 6 years,  as long as they have had some ballet training.

This genre of dance encourages the children to be rhythmically aware which helps to develop musicality, as well as working on each child's flexibility and co-ordination.

I.ST.D. BALLET

Simple Ballet movements are introduced right from day one with basic technique being taught.  The pupils can progress to any form of dance at a later stage.

More formal teaching of technique does not begin until pupils are old enough to enjoy a more structured approach.

BALLET IS THE BASIS OF ALL FORMS OF DANCE AND THEREFORE IS THE CLASS I ENCOURAGE THE CHILDREN TO ATTEND.
